What is Lost Bunyip? This is Australia, by the people who love her. Lost Bunyip is a community-minded site that allows you to upload your photos of Australia for the enjoyment and benefit of other visitors to the country and the site. It also lets you provide your own take on what you've seen and done by commenting on the photo itself, as well as where it was taken and what you, as a local or a visitor, know about the place! And? Well, yes, Lost Bunyip is a photographic site. It's a travel site, and its an online artistic photo-gallery. But with every new visitor who contributes their time, their thoughts and, of course, their photos, Lost Bunyip becomes so much more than that. Lost Bunyip is a community. The people who take and upload photos, the people who come to look, and the people who come to share their thoughts and memories, these are the heart and soul of Lost Bunyip. Australia is home to 20 million individuals, and hundreds of thousands come to visit every year. People fall in love with the place, and with the people, and this is where you can share what it is you love. So Lost Bunyip is more than a gallery or a travel site. If you love this country, Lost Bunyip is for you. And there's plenty more to the site than we can tell you in a couple of short paragraphs. As you move around the site you'll find explanations of what's here and how to use everything. A good place to start is probably our Australia Gallery, where the journey really begins. There you'll find the obvious things, like the Rock and the Coat-Hanger. But you'll also find the weird beauty of Termite Mounds almost 10 metres tall, the sands that range from red to yellow to white in deserts and on long stretches of beaches, and the fearsome majesty of the Southern Ocean breaking against an ancient coastline. You'll be amazed. But then, what else would you expect? This is Australia! The lostbunyip team |
